A Place for Community to Gather
After seeing a need for a community space, the parish rented a space on the main street to make that vision happen. We opened on September 1, 2022. The Gathering Place became somewhere for the community to gather, to rest, to relax, to connect and to learn new skills. Recognizing the need for parking and accessibility, we moved to our new space at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall, 19 Invergordon Avenue Minden on October 1, 2024. We gather, make crafts and art, sew, play euchre, have a coffee and a cookie and enjoy each other’s company! There is always something happening. Please come and join us!
Hours:
Thursdays Noon to 4:00 pm Fridays 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Please Note: In case of inclement weather we may be closed. Please consider safety first.
Regular Activities
Each week volunteers run activities and make sure the coffee is on and ready to welcome everyone.

Tuesdays
* 2:00 – 4:00 The Comfort Circle Every other Tuesday – Any loss can be overwhelming and weigh is down at times. Sometimes we need a kind, accepting place to renew our spirits and bring light to our days as we journey through our grief. Join us as we informally support each other. Everyone is welcome, and coffee is on!
Thursdays:
* 12 noon – 1:00pm Sit to Fit with Georgia Shank. Improve fitness, strength, flexibility and balance. Chairs are optional. By donation.
* 1:00 – 4:00 Time for visiting or self directed crafts/art/knitting. Occasional special activities.
** 1:30 – 3:30 the 4th Thursday of each month – Writing Group with Laura Mount. For the joy of writing! No experience needed. We chat, write, and share if we want to. This is a safe space to develop writing skills with positive and constructive feedback.
Fridays:
* 11:00 am to 1:00pm Arts and Crafts with Marjorie Flohr
* 1:00 – 3:00 Euchre – just for the fun of the game
